World Premiere of Crossing Lines Season 2 coming exclusively to Amazon Prime Instant Video this August

29/07/2014

Critically acclaimed global crime drama starring Donald Sutherland and William Fichtner to receive global premiere this summer for Amazon Prime Instant Video members in the UK

Episodes 1 and 2 now available for media to preview/review by request

London, 29th July 2014: Amazon Prime Instant Video and Tandem Communications (a STUDIOCANAL company) have today announced that season two of the unique global crime drama, Crossing Lines, will have its World Premiere on Amazon Prime Instant Video, Friday 15th August 2014.

All 12 episodes of the series will be exclusively available to Amazon Prime Instant Video customers in the UK for unlimited streaming on the day of launch.

Starring William Fichtner (Elysium, Prison Break and the upcoming Paramount release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Golden Globe®-winner Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games, The Italian Job), Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones, Brideshead Revisited), Marc Lavoine (The Good Thief, My Wife is an Actress), Gabriella Pession (Wilfred, Jesus) and Richard Flood (Titanic: Blood & Steel, Three Wise Women), Crossing Lines is a story of redemption and revenge, the power of friendship and belief in one another.

Season two also sees the star-studded cast joined by recurring guest stars, Carrie-Anne Moss (Vegas, The Matrix) and RayStevenson (Dexter, The Book of Eli). Lara Rossi (Life of Crime, Murder: Joint Enterprise), introduced at the end of season one, joins the cast as series regular.

Produced by Tandem Communications (The Pillars of the Earth, World Without End) and Bernero Productions (Criminal Minds, Third Watch), Crossing Lines has already generated a large fan base following the first series which launched exclusively in the UK last Autumn on Amazon’s LOVEFiLM service (now Amazon Prime Instant Video).

Crossing Lines also has a huge global fan base following the season one broadcast in over 180 countries worldwide, including Italy, United States, Germany, France, Spain, Turkey, India, Iceland, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, and Japan. The series received critical acclaim and was nominated in the category of 'Best Drama TV Series' by The 54th Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo.

A unique, global action and crime drama, Crossing Lines taps into the charter of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to mandate a special crime unit functioning as a European-based FBI, to investigate serialised crimes that cross over European borders and to hunt down and bring criminals to justice.

Crossing Lines is a bold and engaging series from some of the most well known and respected names in entertainment”, said Chris Bird, Amazon Instant Video Film & TV Strategy Director. “We’re as excited as the show’s huge fan base that season two is close on the horizon, not least because Amazon Prime Instant Video will be hosting the world premiere of season two. As always, delivering content of the highest quality for our customers is our absolute focus and we’re proud to showcase such talent on the Amazon Prime Instant Video service.”
Crossing Lines was created by critically acclaimed producer Edward Allen Bernero, whose previous work includes the Emmy Award®-winning Third Watch and Emmy Award-nominated Criminal Minds. Bernero and Tandem President Rola Bauer serve as executive producers.

“Following the phenomenal success of Crossing Lines season one, which launched exclusively on Amazon’s LOVEFiLM service last year and quickly became a firm favourite with viewers, it seemed only fitting that Amazon Prime Instant Video should host the global premiere of season two,” said Randall Broman, Vice President Sales at Tandem Communications”.
