Amazon.co.uk today announced the release of its latest mobile application, Amazon MP3 App for Android™. Customers with Android-based mobile phones can now search, download, buy and play over ten million songs from the Amazon MP3 music store whenever they want and wherever they go.

Designed specifically for Android, the Amazon App offers users a fast and convenient way to access MP3 songs, from all four major music labels and thousands of independent labels, that can be played on virtually any hardware device and managed with any music software.

"At Amazon we want customers to be able to discover, buy and play their music at their convenience, from the widest range of music genres possible," said Raquel Gonzalez-Dalmau, senior manager, Amazon EU MP3. "Customers now have even more ways to discover our selection of over ten million MP3 songs at the touch of a button – with individual tracks starting at 29p and MP3 albums at £3."

The new Amazon MP3 App for Android works over WiFi and 3G networks and searching, browsing, listening and buying MP3s can be done wherever customers are connected to their network.
