Luxembourg—27th September, 2017—Amazon today announced that Echo Show is coming to the UK. Echo Show is available now for £199.99 from www.amazon.co.uk/echoshow and starts shipping to customers from 16th November.

"In just the last year, Alexa has learned thousands of new skills in the UK and she keeps getting smarter every day," said Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President, Amazon Devices. "And, with Echo Show, now she can show you things. Echo Show brings you video flash briefings, calling and messaging, music lyrics, smart home cameras, photos, weather, and more—just ask."

Room-filling sound and enhanced far-field performance
Echo Show is designed to disappear into your home, so that it's always available when you need Alexa, but otherwise fades into the background. Powered by Dolby, the Echo Show speakers are fine-tuned to deliver crisp vocals with dynamic bass response and immersive sound. And, with multi-room music, you can play music across multiple Echo devices simultaneously.

Echo Show features an all-new 8 microphone array along the top of the device, which is paired with Amazon's beam-forming technology, and noise cancellation so Echo Show can hear you from any direction–even while music is playing. If you have more than one Echo Show, Echo, Echo Plus or Echo Dot, Alexa uses ESP (Echo Spatial Perception) to respond from the Echo you're closest to.

Now Alexa can show you things
The screen is designed from the ground up to provide useful, glanceable information from across the room. The Alexa flash briefings now include video content from favourite news providers like BBC News, The Telegraph, MTV and more. Use Echo Show to stay organised at home—start a kitchen timer and see it count down, easily see and manage your family's calendar, or ask to see your to do and shopping lists. Ask Alexa to show you photos, movie show times, and movies and TV shows from Amazon Video. Plus, as you listen to music from Amazon Music, you'll see the display come alive with song lyrics and album art.

Stay connected to your friends and family
Echo Show introduces Alexa calling and messaging—a totally new way to be together with your friends and family. Just ask Alexa to call mum, and you'll be connected via video to her Echo Show or Alexa app. You can also enable a new feature called Drop In for the special cases when you want to connect with your closest family and friends or other Echo devices in your home. For example, you can drop in to ask what time dinner will be ready, see the family room, or check in with a close relative. With Drop In, you're always in control—turn it off at any time, select who is allowed to Drop In on you, and choose which devices are available for Drop In.

Alexa calling and messaging is rolling out across the Alexa family in the UK over the coming days, allowing current Alexa users to make calls and send messages to friends and family using Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or the Alexa app.

Control your smart home
Use Echo Show to see a live camera feed from the nursery or your front door. Plus, turn up the thermostat or dim the lights from the couch—all just by asking Alexa. Echo Show works with smart home devices such as cameras, lights, thermostats, and more from brands like Ring, Arlo, Philips Hue, Hive, TP-Link, Netatmo, WeMo, Smart Things, and Tado.

Alexa is always getting smarter—all-new skills from OpenTable, Just Eat, BBC News and more
Alexa—the brain behind Echo Show—is built in the cloud, so she is always getting smarter. The more you use Echo Show, the more it adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary, and personal preferences. Alexa connects through the cloud automatically and is continually learning, adding new functionality and skills. Like Echo and Echo Dot, customers using Echo Show can access thousands of Alexa skills, with the addition of new skills from OpenTable, Just Eat, National Rail, Mercedes, BBC News, The Telegraph, Evening Standard, LBC, MTV, 7Digital, Recipedia, Mail Recipes, Sky Sports Super 6, Liverpool FC, Arlo, Ring, and more—all optimised for the display.

Echo Show is available for pre-order today and will start shipping on 16th November in the UK. Echo Show is available in black or white and is £199.99. Customers can also choose a 2-pack—buy 2, save £100.00.

Echo Show will be available at www.amazon.co.uk/echoshow and at retailers including Argos, Dixons, John Lewis and Tesco.
