Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 holds off Harry Potter and Michael McIntyre to become Amazon.co.uk's biggest selling product of 2009

Other big sellers for the year include FIFA 10, Dan Brown, Susan Boyle and The Twilight Series

Amazon.co.uk today revealed that ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ was its biggest-selling product of 2009. The video game secured pole position in the bestsellers chart ahead of the ‘Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince’ DVD and comedian Michael McIntyre’s ‘Live 2009’ DVD.

Stephenie Meyer
- All four titles from her ‘Twilight’ series appeared in Amazon.co.uk’s top ten bestselling books list for 2009 whilst the ‘Twilight’ DVD was the sixth biggest selling product of the year overall.

Susan Boyle
- Susan broke Amazon records both in the UK and the US. Her debut album ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ is the biggest selling pre-order music product of all-time on Amazon globally. She not only made it into the Amazon.co.uk top ten best sellers for 2009 but was also number four in the Christmas best sellers list.

Stieg Larsson
- Although Dan Brown’s ‘The Lost Symbol’ was the bestselling book for 2009, Stieg Larsson’s novels ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’, ‘The Girl Who Played with Fire’ and ‘The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest’ all featured in the top ten bestsellers list for books in 2009.

Home Fitness
- Sales of home fitness equipment continue to rise on Amazon.co.uk. After two years of being number one, Powerball has finally been overtaken as the bestselling Sports & Leisure product, with the Omron Walking Style II Pedometer grabbing the top spot.

- These hair straighteners were the must-have Health and Beauty product of 2008, and are once again in 2009.

Digital music
- MP3 players continue to hold top spots in the Consumer Electronics bestsellers list and December 2009 saw Rage Against The Machine achieve the biggest selling MP3 ever on Amazon.co.uk. ‘Killing in the Name’ was the 10th biggest product of Christmas 2009 across all stores on Amazon.co.uk following the Christmas week chart battle with X Factor’s Joe McElderry.
