AMAZON.CO.UK ANNOUNCES FREE DELIVERY FOR CUSTOMERS IN IRELAND--Millions of products eligible for Free Super Saver Delivery with a spend of over £25 at Amazon.co.uk

October 06, 2009: Amazon.co.uk today introduced its free delivery service for customers in Ireland. Whether it's shoes or stationery, jewellery or juicers, backpacks or facepacks, millions of items are eligible for Free Super Saver Delivery, available on orders over £25.*

"Earlier this year, Amazon announced a huge increase in the number of products available for delivery to Ireland and we have seen a very positive response from Irish customers," said Brian McBride, Managing Director of Amazon.co.uk Ltd. "Having made millions of items available at low prices, the aim now is to enhance the shopping experience of customers in Ireland and we are delighted to introduce a free delivery service, allowing even greater value to be gained from shopping at Amazon.co.uk."

In April, Amazon.co.uk extended its Ireland offer to include items from all stores including Electronics, Home & Garden, Baby, Jewellery & Watches, Clothing & Shoes, Sports & Leisure, Health & Beauty and DIY & Tools. Previously, customers in Ireland could only purchase items from the Books, Music, DVD & Video, Software & Videogames and Toys stores.

Bestsellers in Ireland since the extended product range became available include Braun Epilators, Garmin Forerunner Sports Watches, ghd Hair Straighteners, Nikon Digital SLR Cameras and Western Digital External Hard Drives.

In addition to the new Free Super Saver Delivery service, Amazon has also introduced Amazon Currency Converter™. Irish customers using a Visa or MasterCard issued in Euros can pay in that currency at Amazon.co.uk. The exchange rate is displayed at the time of ordering, so customers know exactly what they are paying in Euros, rather than having to wait for their card statement.
