Amazon thanks customers for #1 ranking in the 2017 UK Customer Satisfaction Index

20/01/2017

London – 20 January 2017 – A new nationwide poll of 10,000 consumers has ranked Amazon.co.uk number one in customer satisfaction amongst all UK companies. It is the second year running Amazon has received the accolade. To thank its customers, Amazon.co.uk is offering £10 off selected orders over £50 placed today. This can be redeemed by entering the promo code BIGTHANKS at checkout.

The UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI), run by The Institute of Customer Service, asks consumers to rate their actual experiences of the individual organisations they have dealt with on a range of metrics, from professionalism, quality and efficiency to problem solving and complaint handling.

“We always appreciate the support of our customers so we’re thrilled to start the year with such positive feedback,” said Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon. “We know we can always get better, and we’re confident our investments in the UK will enable us to further improve the shopping experience for all our customers in 2017.”

Over the last year, Amazon introduced new innovations to further improve the shopping experience for customers. AmazonFresh launched in London, with the full grocery service now available in over 200 postcodes.  The ultra-fast delivery service Prime Now continued to expand, now reaching over 30% of the UK population, and Amazon Restaurants launched, bringing great food from hand-picked local restaurants to Prime members in parts of London.

Amazon also released a series of new devices in 2016 including Echo and Echo Dot, voice-controlled speakers powered by Amazon’s Alexa voice service; Dash and Dash Buttons, enabling customers to quickly and easily order their staple items; and Kindle Oasis – the thinnest and lightest Kindle ever. Furthermore, Amazon launched a number of new must-see original and exclusive TV shows including The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime Video, as well as launching Amazon Music Unlimited, with a catalogue of more than 40 million songs to stream or download.

Jo Causon, CEO of The Institute for Customer Service, comments: “The latest UKCSI results clearly show that just being ‘good’ is no longer good enough. Organisations who can get things right first time and deal with problems effectively to deliver an excellent customer experience are those that are thriving both on the high street and online.”

The £10 off £50 offer is available on products sold by Amazon retail including AmazonFresh, Amazon Pantry and Prime Now. It cannot be redeemed for products sold by third-party sellers on Amazon Marketplace, Gift Cards or digital content.
