Amazon Prime Video confirms James May: Oh Cook, a short, sweet and savoury cookery series brought to you by The Grand Tour’s James May

30/07/2020

James May: Oh Cook, produced by Plum Pictures and New Entity, will launch exclusively on Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories

LONDON, UK, 30th July 2020 – Amazon Prime Video today announced James May: Oh Cook, a seven-part Amazon Original unscripted series starring James May. The series will be based on James’ first cookbook ‘Oh Cook!: 60 easy recipes that any idiot can make’, published by Pavilion Books on 1st October 2020. The new Amazon Original series will launch exclusively on Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories later this year.

With a title inspired by The Grand Tour presenter’s infamous catchphrase, James May: Oh Cook is a cooking series but from the perspective of someone who can’t really cook. Across the series, James will show viewers that if you can cook a few things passably well, you can actually cook anything. The series will see James attempt some of the sixty recipes he has had to learn for his forthcoming cookbook. Each episode will cover a specific cuisine theme including Pasta, Pub Classics, Indian, Cakes, and Roasts, and will feature three recipes each alongside some quick fix recipes that can be created from the staples in your cupboard.

“I’m delighted to be back working with Amazon Prime Video but in a way you may not have seen me before,” says James, “I’ve arrived at the age where I spend most of my day thinking about my next meal, so I made a TV series about it. Cooking your own curry is so much more satisfying than ordering a take-away, even though it won’t taste as nice.”

The 7 x 30 minute series will launch on Prime Video globally later this year.

James May: Oh Cook will join the thousands of TV shows and movies in the Prime Video catalogue, including UK produced Amazon Original series such as Good Omens, The Grand Tour, and All or Nothing: Manchester City, and award winning and critically acclaimed global Amazon Original series including Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Boys, Homecoming and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, all on Prime Video, which is available at no extra cost for Prime members, who also enjoy next day delivery, streaming music, and more. Prime Video will also offer Prime members in the UK live coverage of 20 Premier League Football matches from this season plus its continued exclusive coverage of ATP Tour tennis and US Open tennis matches for no additional cost to their Prime membership.

Prime members will be able to watch all episodes of James May: Oh Cook anywhere and anytime on the Prime Video app for smart TVs, mobile devices, Fire TV, Fire TV stick, Fire tablets, games consoles, on Virgin’s V6 TV Box, the Talk Talk TV set top box, Apple TV, Chromecast, BT TV or online at www.amazon.co.uk/primevideo. In the Prime Video app, Prime members can download episodes on their mobile devices and tablets and watch anywhere offline at no additional cost. Prime Video is available in the UK and Ireland at no extra cost to a Prime membership for just £7.99 a month or £79 per year.
