20/07/2015

Amazon Lockers to be installed for the first time at petrol stations, serving people who commute as well as local communities across the UK

Amazon Lockers provide a simple and convenient pick up point for orders, 24 hours a day, seven days a week

London – 20 July 2015 – Amazon today announced it is expanding its Amazon Lockers programme to include Jet petrol stations across the UK. Amazon Lockers provide a simple, secure and convenient pick up point for Amazon orders, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This is the first time that Amazon Lockers will be installed at petrol stations, serving people who commute to work, as well as local communities across the UK.

There are more than 300 Amazon Lockers nationwide in locations ranging from convenience stores and shopping centres to train stations and airports.

Amazon Lockers will be installed in more than 50 Jet petrol station locations across the UK. The first locations will include Doncaster, Cleveland, Tyne and Wear, Middlesex and Glasgow.

"We are delighted to partner with Jet and install Amazon Lockers at their petrol stations across the UK,” said John Tagawa, Operations Director, Amazon UK. “Amazon Lockers are the delivery option of choice for many customers who want to pick up their shopping at a time and place that suits them best."

Stuart Cufflin, Retail Services Manager at Jet, said: “Jet petrol stations are ideal locations for an Amazon Locker, providing a convenient way for people to pick up their Amazon parcels while on the move. Jet petrol stations are spread across the UK and serve local communities as well as people who travel to and from work by car.”

Amazon customers can select an Amazon Locker location when they get to the checkout. They are given a unique pick-up code in order to retrieve their items from that Locker at a time convenient to them.

The vast majority of products directly sold by Amazon.co.uk are available for delivery to an Amazon Locker and Amazon Prime members get one-day delivery to these locations as part of their membership. Customers who aren’t members of Amazon Prime can receive one-day delivery for £1.99.
