Slough – 22nd June 2011: Amazon has begun recruiting at its new 1m sq ft fulfilment centre in Dunfermline. A full range of roles are available from local team leaders and supervisors to IT technicians and fork lift truck drivers as well as pickers and packers of products to be delivered to customers.

Around 100 new permanent and temporary roles are expected to be filled in the coming months. These form part of the 750 new permanent jobs to be created at the Dunfermline centre over time, along with a further 1,500 temporary jobs during peak periods.

"Associates from our Glenrothes centre will be moving over to the new site shortly and will be joined before the end of the year by a good number of new recruits as we look to begin and increase our operations from this centre," said Sandy Davidson, General Manager of the Dunfermline fulfilment centre. "We will continue recruiting on an ongoing basis into the New Year and look forward to gathering a strong and talented local workforce that offer a high level of service for the benefit of all Amazon customers in the UK and across the world."

The new centre will be Amazon’s biggest in the UK – approximately the size of 14 football pitches – and is being built on development land alongside the M90 near to the junction with the A92.
