Amazon Begins Recruitment for New 450,000 sq ft Fulfilment Centre in Hemel Hempstead

Hundreds of permanent and temporary roles to be made available during 2012 at Amazon’s 8th UK fulfilment centre

 

October 26, 2011:

Amazon has begun recruitment for its new 450,000 sq ft fulfilment centre in Hemel Hempstead which will open in 2012. Recruitment will ramp up throughout next year with over 1,000 permanent and temporary employees expected to be working at the centre during the busy Christmas period in 2012.

"Our aim is to provide customers with the very best shopping experience and the opening of this new fulfilment centre in Hemel Hempstead will provide us with extra capacity for an ever-increasing number of products," said Arthur Valdez, Vice President for Operations at Amazon.co.uk Ltd. "We look forward to assembling a great local workforce in Hemel Hempstead who will work together to ensure that customers benefit from fast delivery on the millions of great value products available from Amazon.co.uk."

Situated at Mammoth in Boundary Way, Hemel Hempstead, the fulfilment centre will become Amazon's eighth in the UK alongside Marston Gate, Doncaster, Peterborough and Rugeley in England, Dunfermline and Gourock in Scotland and Swansea Bay in Wales.
