Luxembourg – January 13, 2015 – Amazon today announced that it created and filled more than 6,000 new permanent jobs across the European Union in 2014, the most the company has hired in a year since opening its first EU websites, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de, in 1998. “Demand from our customers in the EU is greater than ever, and we see lots of promising areas to invent and invest for the future. Amazon hired new employees at more than 50 locations across the EU in 2014, including corporate offices, fulfillment centers, software development centers, and customer service centers. These new roles cover a wide range of fields from software development to supply chain to design – examples of roles include software development engineers, machine learning experts, datacenter technicians, packaging engineers, computational linguists, site merchandisers, supply chain managers, buyers, designers, fulfillment center associates, and customer service representatives.
